The year 1921 marks one of the most devastating yet often erased events in American history—the Tulsa Race Massacre. Between May 31 and June 1, 1921, a white mob descended on the prosperous Black neighborhood of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma—known as Black Wall Street—killing an estimated 300 people, destroying more than 1,200 homes, and reducing thriving Black businesses to ashes.

But this design isn’t about silence. It’s about remembrance, resilience, and reclaiming the narrative.

Why It Matters

  • Greenwood was a symbol of Black excellence—home to lawyers, doctors, educators, and entrepreneurs.

  • The massacre was followed by decades of silence, injustice, and denial—no reparations, no convictions.

  • But the story lives on through those who rebuild, resist, and refuse to forget.

Wear the Truth

  • This shirt is for those who understand that memory is a form of protest.

  • It honors what was lost—and what was never supposed to be built in the first place.

  • Wearing 1921 is an act of historical truth-telling and cultural pride.

We Remember So We Can Rebuild

1921 is more than a year—it’s a reminder that Black prosperity has always existed, and so has the resistance to it. This time, we keep the receipts. Wear 1921, and never let them forget.

We Built It. They Burned It. We Remember.
